Exploring Anxiety and Self-Efficacy in Writing

This paper investigates the level and type of writing anxiety among Turkish EFL students along with causes perceived by them their instructors. The self-efficacy was examined, findings obtained, relationship between in classes investigated. To meet these objectives, 176 (A2, intermediate level) 6 instructors enrolled a language preparatory program offered state university Istanbul, Turkey participated study. data were gathered both quantitative qualitatively through Second Language Writing Anxiety Inventory (SLWAI), Self-efficacy Scale (SWS), Causes (CWAI), semi-structured interviews. results revealed that had either high or moderate English, they mostly suffered from cognitive anxiety. Their also moderate, there negative correlation participants. this study suggest implications about coping at programs.
